31st part of the First Rio City Aesthetic Marathon (concept): 1.035 kilometers in 14:56 minutes – completed on Monday, April 18th 2016, in the quarter Alto da Boa Vista (overall map). The pianist and composer Antonio Guerra lives in Rio de Janeiro (more about him).
Why did you choose this part to represent Rio de Janeiro at the First Rio City Aesthetic Marathon?
I selected this part because the waterfall is a bit hidden from the city, however, it is a very important source of strength in my life. I love, like all inhabitants of Rio, the beach and our wonderful town on the coast, but this here is a place of refuge only 15 minutes from the salted water and from the big town, where one hears no more cars and stands in the midst of this peculiar and rare Atlantic Rainforest. This place has become a special place offering rest and peace and signifies pure connection with nature.
