Why did you choose this part to represent Rio de Janeiro at the First Rio City Aesthetic Marathon?
On this segment one can see a lot of … First of all we are between sea and rocks, and this is the best of nature for me. I love stones, mountains and the sea, and here in Rio we got all of this abundantly. Secondly because the path really enters the sea, it is brilliant, it seems that you are running across the sea. And from here you are able to see the figure of Christ, the Dois Irmãos, you see the Pedra da Gávea. This is a corner of Leme, I live in Leme. It is an emotional place and stands for the nature of Rio.
Your favourite art place?
Paço Imperial at the Praça XV number 48, downtown. Beside the rich and important programme the historical building itself is worth a visit.
Your favourite shop in Rio?
The second-hand store De Salto Alto, Rua Siqueira Campos, 143 sala 44 – Copacabana.
Your favourite restaurant in Rio – and what should you order there?
Miam Miam, Rua general Góes Monteiro, 34 – Botafogo. Chicken croquettes with curry and banana chutney; lasagna with aubergine and baked tomatoes, sheep yoghurt, farofa with Za´atar and pine nuts, strips of the peach palm with shrimps, roasted garlic coulis, hacked herbs, pine nuts and olives, mini-Churros with doce de leite. Ambience to feel at home, perfect lighting, table choice, original candlesticks, chairs and tables of 50s/60s, menu full of surprises, excellent service and miraculous food!
